Hi Des — can you try a test I want to make sure the file is actually copying to the USB and not just a link to the original file — copy a file to the USB as normal and then try to view it on a different machine if you have one available actually open the file rather than just view it — then delete the original file from your compluter BEFORE re-inserting the memory stick, can you let me know what happens in this case?

I ask because it sounds like some software could be dropbox is setup to sync your files between your laptop and usb stick — can you check your system for any syncing software like this and also have a look at the settings in dropbox to see if you can uncheck syncing of the USB and then test again.
Yes it did replicate as originally stated. Hi Des — something is definitely syncing by the sound of it — was there software installed for the USB stick itself? Not linked with any other network and unchecked syncing and everything else from dropbox still the same.
