Display driver gpu enhancements
I've been getting the above mentioned error in photoshop and also an error in Adobe After Effects, both have issues with the GPU and the GPU sniffer not quite sure what that is. My drivers are all up to date so I don"t know what's causing these issues. These are my specs: CPU: Intel i 3.
The cause is a bug in your video card driver. It sounds like you have an integrated GPU in the system as well, and need to update it's drivers from it's GPU maker's website. I did this and still having the same problem. I just started having this problem out of the blue about a month ago. Updating my drivers didn't work. GPU Caps Viewer didn't return anything meaningful.
YMMV, but Photoshop is now detecting my video card correctly, and the error has stopped. That would be coincidence - the message comes from the display driver returning an error when it should not, and has no relation to scratch drive space. Actually my graphics drivers are always up to date and this "tip" fixed my problem also. I too am using an SSD. Maybe it has something to do with that. No, this error message is about a very specific issue: that the GPU driver has a problem.
The GPU driver could have a problem with some disks in your system, but Photoshop posts the error message because the GPU driver returned errors when it should not have. My computer started doing this same thing just the other day. I have no idea if it is affecting my Photoshop at all because i'm terrified to even edit a file for fear it will be corrupted or corrupt my other files.
I make textures for 3D models for the program SecondLife, and my computer wont render the models on my screen so i cant texture them. Texturing these 3D models is how i make a living, so if anyone could help me figure this out, i would be very grateful. I use windows 7. I checked for graphic card driver updates and there were indeed some updates so i updated my whole catalyst package, restarted my laptop, and it didnt fix anything at all.

Jan 12, Jan 14, To help guard against crashes related to problematic video adapters or drivers, Photoshop employs a small program called a GPU Sniffer.
Every time Photoshop launches, Photoshop launches the sniffer. The sniffer runs rudimentary tests of the GPU, reports the results to Photoshop and creates a log file called sniffer-out.
For the location of the sniffer-out. If the sniffer crashes or reports a failure, Photoshop displays the message above indicating that it has detected a problem. On subsequent launches, the message doesn't appear.
If you correct the problem, either by updating the driver or replacing the video card, the sniffer will report a success on the next launch and the Use Graphics Processor option is enabled.
